Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I have to have symptoms to see physical therapy in pregnancy?

  • No! Physical therapy doesn’t have to be reactive. We strongly believe in prevention and proactive care. Ideally, we recommend establishing care in the first trimester, addressing any discomfort and introducing labor prep during the second trimester, and planning for postpartum and continued wellness throughout the third trimester. Our goal is to keep you moving well, feeling great, and fully prepared for delivery and postpartum.

  • Should I see a PT while I’m pregnant or wait until postpartum?

    • Schedule during pregnancy! The sooner we can address changes in your body, the better. Early intervention helps prevent common issues like incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti, and pelvic pain. We also guide you in modifying exercise safely and preparing your body for labor with birth positions, breath strategies, and hands-on techniques to minimize tearing and trauma.

  • When should I see a PT vs a Chiropractor during pregnancy?

    • Both professions can offer great benefits—and they can work beautifully together. If you're unsure, book a consult and we’ll help determine the best fit for your needs.

  • I’m 45 and done having kids, is it too late to see a PT?

    • Never. It’s never too late to invest in your pelvic or overall health. As your body transitions through perimenopause and menopause, we help manage or prevent symptoms like leakage, heaviness, and discomfort. Habits formed over decades can be retrained—your body is adaptable with the right guidance.

  • I haven’t had kids, is PT right for me?

    • Absolutely. You do not need to have been pregnant to benefit from pelvic floor therapy. We treat women of all ages and life stages who experience symptoms like pain, leakage, or other dysfunctions.

  • How many sessions will I need?

    • Every woman’s journey is unique. Most clients begin with at least 6 visits, but some choose to continue longer or transition into a maintenance routine that supports feeling their best long-term. Others return during different seasons of life—trying to conceive, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, or times of increased activity. Think of us as your Primary Care PT—a trusted resource you can come back to whenever your body needs support.

  • Do you offer labor and delivery prep sessions?

    • Yes! Every woman deserves to feel confident and empowered going into birth. Our sessions cover pain management techniques, optimal positions for labor, ways to support progress, and strategies to reduce pelvic floor trauma. Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend!

  • How should I schedule and how many visits?

    • We recommend booking your initial evaluation plus two follow-ups within a 6-week window to maintain progress. Schedules fill quickly, often 4–6 weeks out, so early booking is best.

  • How do I book a package?

    • Packages aren’t available online—but we’re happy to help! Just call, email, or talk to us in person and we’ll get everything set up for you.

  • What to expect and what do I wear?

    • Wear comfortable, movable clothing that allows access to areas like your abdomen, back, and legs. At your first visit, we’ll review your medical history, discuss your goals, and create a personalized plan just for you.

    • We are trained in both external and internal (vaginal or rectal) pelvic floor evaluation and treatment, but everything we do is based entirely on your comfort and consent. If internal assessment isn’t right for you, we always offer alternative options to ensure you feel safe, respected, and supported.
